Meet Nabhit Kapur, Minister of International Co-operation

Question 1:- Could you please introduce yourself?

 

I am Dr Nabhit Kapur, a mental health advocate and psychologist. I am the founder of Peacfulmind Foundation and World leaders for Mental Health.
I am from India but African by heart as I believe in the strengths of the continent. I own a Master’s degree in psychology and counselling and doctorate in psychology and specialised in mental health training and awareness.

For some years now after my teaching and practice as psychologist, I started my travels to African region exploring potentials of the continent. I also serve on board of many organisations as advisor and member.

 

Question 2:- What is your vision of Pan-africanism?

 

My vision of Pan-Africanism is to consolidate everyone either from the region or diaspora or otherwise to collaborate and synergise their thoughts and actions to building a better and sustainable movement for growth of the continent specially the youth.

 

Question 3:- Who is your favourite character in Pan-African history, and why?



My favourite character in Pan-African history is Kwame Nkrumah.

 

Question 4:- With the onset of technology and investment in Africa, how do you see Africa in the 21st Century?



With the onset of technology and investment I see Africa in the 21st Century as a power on which the world will depend or share interests. Africa holds everything and despite of everything, the only solution to change the continent picture is leadership. Africa should and will change if the world is to survive. My belief in Africa has been since 2016, though I am not born in the continent or of the decent but it’s my Home too.

 

Question 5– What are you planning to do in the future for the State of the African Diaspora?

 

What I plan to do in the future for the State of African Diaspora is strengthen a comprehensive bilateral and multilateral agreements with various stakeholders, organisations and governments to involve SOAD in decision making as well as connecting the diaspora to the continent. With the vision of 2063 of African Union I believe the present government can do a lot on those fronts and deliver the vision of the PM.
