FACTS ABOUT AFRICORA

 

AFRICORA Foundation Intl. was formed in order to engage more efficiently and effectively and with a need and requirement to be able to partner, joint venture and foster social, business and commercial, philanthropic, and humanitarian relationships, initiatives and projects internationally in Africa and in the Diaspora on behalf of SOAD.

AFRICORA Foundation Intl. thus facilitates the uniting of individuals, NGOs, CBOs, companies and corporations in the Diaspora and within continental Africa to undertake programs of action of similar nature and intent to enhance and benefit local and international communities alike.

AFRICORA Foundation Intl. (AFI) shall operate internationally within the Diaspora and in Continental Africa.  The Headquarters of AFI shall be based in The Gambia.  AFI shall collaborate with all genuine partners within and outside the Gambia to fulfill its mission and stated objectives.

AFI will introduce, facilitate, advocate and promote socio-economic projects and initiatives, and be a bridge and partner between and with companies, NGOs, CBOs, pan-african organisations globally and any other stakeholders who wish to initiate projects to enhance the wellbeing of Africa and the Diaspora.

PRELIMINARY OBJECTIVES

 

  • – To collaboration in areas relevant to the African Diaspora and in facilitating connecting Africa to the Diaspora and the Diaspora to Africa and projects and initiatives pertinent to the Diaspora in general.
  • –  Working to integrate majority of Pan African organisations into a formidable force.
  • –  Creating links between global African Civil Society and African Leadership structures.
  • –  Establish a strategic collaboration with the aim of enhancing and increasing the development effectiveness of their efforts to achieve their common goals and objectives in the field of Diaspora development, particularly in the areas of advocacy, repatriation, cultural integration, mutual projects and socio-economic development.
  • –  Cooperation in areas of common concern and decide to work together towards the shared goal of matters relating to historic African Diaspora which affect the historic diaspora in repatriating back to Africa as well as Economic, Social, Cultural and Financial Development and Heritage initiatives establishing the solid foundations for Diaspora advocacy,

  • – Functioning as a collaborative, developmental and creative entity for Africa’s cultural heritage tourism that seeks to promote and increase Diaspora business integration, visitation, prolonged stays, to foster quality stewardship of local cultural heritage assets, stimulate economic prosperity for local businesses, and enhance indigenous quality of life.
  • –  To enhance the economic and social prosperity of the Diaspora and Africa by promoting and delivering quality cultural knowledge, heritage experiences with regard to tourism, preservation of Africa heritage while respecting and protecting unique and diverse ecosystems, environments, history, lifestyles and cultures.
  • –  Strengthen partnerships cultural, history, and historic preservation, stakeholder organizations and other government agencies to foster programs which pertain to the rights and justice of the African Diaspora, such as reparations and restitution.
  • –  Leverage on this collaboration to enhance collaborations between other Pan-African organisations globally and set up targets towards strategic programs of initiatives that benefit the Diaspora and Africa, for example, job creation through the organization and promotion of cultural heritage events or economic and financial opportunities.
