Collaboration Pan-African Parliament (PAP)

On November 15, 2024, Chief Fortune Charumbira, President of the Parliament of the African Union (PAP), and Dr Louis-Georges Tin, Prime Minister of the State of the African Diaspora (SOAD), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Under the terms of this MOU, the following was agreed : 

– the State of the African Diaspora is now granted Observer Member Status and will be invited to speak at the commencement of each Ordinary Session ;  

– a permanent office within Parliament shall be established for the State of the African Diaspora and the two Parliaments will keep each other informed of their respective political agendas.; 

– further, they will celebrate annually the ‘International Day of the African Diaspora’ together;  and 

– SOAD and PAP will jointly organise every year the Africa-Diaspora Summit.
